NAVHDA Utility Prize 1 204 at 2.5 years old
Versatile Champion At 3.5 years old
Cruise was the boy in Blondie's second litter that I continued to watch. He was everywhere and anywhere at anytime. He loved to explore, find bird feathers, and otherwise lead the pack into good adventures. He was a handsome, big eared, sweetheart that captured my heart with his personality and bold antics very quickly. Megan and Taylor Helmuth were no strangers to training versatile vizslas and when I offered them a chance at taking a Blondie puppy they JUMPED. Megan had previously trained two vizslas to Prize 1 Utility status at that point and Cruise would be a great complement to their dog training and hunting journeys. Megan had fallen in love with Blondie the year before during a hunting trip and Cruise brought forth some of Blondie's sweet personality with his grandmother Ripley's high desire. Cruise entered their home with ease and as it turns out, he bonded quickly with Taylor where Taylor suddenly found himself smack dab in the middle of learning to train a versatile dog. Megan helped and coached him and together, they brought the absolute best out of Cruise.
Cruise has his mother's high flying style combined with her desire to please. He has his dad's huge motor for searching, while driving hard in the wetlands when needed. HIs bird drive is off the charts but his mental stability is what makes him so special. His devotion to their young son and ability to meld into a three dog household is what makes him so special. Taylor handled this YOUNG and classy boy to a Versatile Champion title in the coveted NAVHDA Invitational giving Wall Canyon our 3rd VC in our lines.
An early maturing dog, Cruise took to training easily and smoothly. He's been quite the showboat and is always eager to show off how good of a bird dog he is in front of a crowd. The development of special dogs is only done with special people and again, Taylor and Megan are an unbeatable team for bringing up and training vizslas but particularly Cruise. Cruise became a VC because Taylor and Megan did all the right things and I feel blessed as a breeder to have owners as devoted to their dogs.
Thank you to Megan and Taylor for all you have done for us!
Cruise is a BROTHER to Wall Canyon Hank's Blonde Ambition " Bettie"

Hank was the spunkiest, most driven, sleep the least puppy out of a 10 puppy litter in 2018. He grew into a tremendous bird dog having been cultivated and trained by his owner Todd Peterson. Todd and Hank have travelled the Canadian and American Prairies hunting waterfowl on water and in the field as well as chased upland gamebirds relentlessly. His exposure to hunting was intense and hugely productive at a young age which made him such an tremendous bird dog.
When i was given the opportunity to finish training this handsome dude, I jumped at it because I knew he was the real deal. He possesses his mother's unbridled bird desire which made it challenging to get this boy truly steady but when he figured it out, he looked like a million bucks standing on extended points. His duck search prowess is part genetics, desire, and pure hard core exposure to hunting wild ducks. Hank is one wetland bashing, duck finding, leave no bird left behind vizsla. He has the best combination of his dad's sweet temperament and physical substance to power through heavy cover combined with his mother's unbelievable desire to never quit. I had to retrieve Hank from the wetland by Kayak on numerous occasions due to his never say quit personality. Something you can't say often about vizslas.
Vizslas like Hank don't come along frequently and if you're looking to increase prey drive in your breeding program, Hank is the real deal.

Perrin is the boy I should have kept.....but lucky for me, Jessica Mackey took him into her high performance home and brought the absolute best out in him. She's shown him off in AKC Field Trials, AKC Conformation, and NAVHDA Natural Ability. I couldn't be prouder of him but I also know that these things don't happen without great owners and people. Thank you Jessica for giving this boy the ultimate life demonstrating what a spectacular vizsla is.
Perrin is a product of Blondie's first litter she produced with Jessica's handsome Cinder. Here's a highlight of her description of Perrin....
Perrin was supposed to be a girl. But, when I arrived to pick out my pup from the long awaited Cinder x Blondie litter, I just couldn't take my eyes off the little red collared boy. I told everyone, EVERYONE, not to let me take a boy home. This generation, I needed a Cinder daughter. But, Perrin.
The boy was a stand out from the minute he was born. He is a perfect mix of his hard charging rooing dad Cinder and his beautiful, biddable, talented mama Blondie. He is, thus far, already exceeding Bridget and my expectations and hopes for his litter. He started turning heads in the show ring as a baby puppy in the 4-6 month classes at Specialties, and has made my jaw drop on numerous occasions in the field. He is a driven, level headed, bold little bird dog. He has tackled the eastern Washington desert, the Idaho high desert, the Montana prairie, and SD cattails... all before 6 months old, and is finding and retrieving wild birds for us. Best of all, Perrin is the world's sweetest and easiest puppy. He came home right as our Veggies were born, and as a 12 week old puppy was gently playing with his baby cousins. He's a respectful pup to the adults and a mischievous playmate to his siblings. He excels at being a snuggly velcro vizsla scarf sleeping in bed and has never met a stranger. He takes on each new situation, whether it be social, training, or field work, with a can do confident attitude.
Perrin then hit the competition world and took it by storm. At a year old, Perrin became Dual Pointed, winning his first Puppy stake, placing in many more, and earning his first show points in the middle of field trial season. He moved on to Summer games, earning his Junior Hunter title in one weekend. He then took me to our first NAVHDA Natural Ability Test and earned himself a Natural Ability Prize 1, 112 -- a perfect score! That Fall we were back to the Field where he quickly earned his Derby points towards his FC. That win made him the VCA #1 Puppy/Derby Dog for the Fall, an added bonus along the way! Perrin then switched gears to the show ring, where he went out with our friend Sarah Luther/Velocity Handling and quickly earned his Championship in four weekends.
Perrin broke out easily, and is the first of my dogs that I have steadied here at home. He earned his Senior Hunter in one season, and started running Gun Dog stakes as a two year old. His first year running, he has picked up a retrieving major win and four solid gun dog placements in horseback stakes. He's getting better and better every day, and has an exciting future ahead of him!
Good boy, P!
This little rockstar has the potential to give his granddad Sitka a run for his money in the record breaking department, and Bridget and I have every intention to give him every opportunity to do so.
